New compilation system for the HOLD V project

March 2, 1998 -- Farnborough, UK -- With funding from the UK Ministry of Defence and Lucas Aerospace (NYSE: LVA), phase five of the High Order Language Demonstrator program (HOLD V) will procure a custom Ada 95 compilation system based on the new XGC technology.

Like its HOLD III predecessor, HOLD V program will demonstrate the use of the Ada 95 programming language for safety-critical applications including the Lucas full-authority digital engine controller. However HOLD V will target next-generation hardware, and demonstrate a large increase in performance and functionality.
