March 2, 1998 -- Farnborough, UK -- Following the success of the 16-bit compilation system known as GCC-1750, we are happy to announce a new development program for a 32-bit system targeted to the ERC32 spacecraft microprocessor. The project milestones include a beta release that will be made available toward the end of May at the DASIA98 conference, and a full release toward the end of July 1998. GCC-ERC32 will comprise the same toolset as GCC-1750, and will allow a high degree of application code portability between the two targets. The development work is funded by the European Space Agency under contract 11935/NL/JG.
